Mispronounced words that make me crazy

Anyone can have a good education and still sound ignorant.

That's how it sounds to me.

BTW, "ignorant" doesn't mean "stupid". It means:

1. Lacking education or knowledge.
2. Showing or arising from a lack of education or knowledge: an ignorant mistake.
3. Unaware or uninformed.

None of these are a compliment to the speaker.

I think I've gotten over being "driven crazy" by the way someone pronounces something but I do notice it.

These don't drive me crazy but here are some words that I've noticed people commonly mispronounce because they just don't know the correct pronunciation. Maybe you will learn something:

bruschetta is not "broo-shetta". It's "bru-sketta"
Ubuntu is not "you-bun-too" it's "oo-BOON-too". That can be found in their user documentation.
Teva (the brand of river sandals and flip-flops) is not "TEE-va" it's "TEH-vah"
