Mispronounced words that make me crazy

Anyone can have a good education and still sound ignorant.

That's how it sounds to me.

BTW, "ignorant" doesn't mean "stupid". It means:

1. Lacking education or knowledge.
2. Showing or arising from a lack of education or knowledge: an ignorant mistake.
3. Unaware or uninformed.

None of these are a compliment to the speaker.

That's just plain ignernt :hiding:

Aks drives me nuts. Come on people, it's a 3 letter word!!!:scowl:

Come down to New Orleans and we'll drive you beserk with this.

Speaking of New Orleans, it's pronounced Nawlins, but not in the way most tourists say it - too much emphasis on the "Naw". Just say it like you're the laziest SOB on the planet, and you'll just about have it. Also, New Orleeens shouldn't ever be used unless it's in song, and New Orlee-Ans shouldn't be said by anyone, ever.

It drives me nuts when someone starts a sentence with "anymore".

Like.......Anymore, you can't find gas for under four bucks a gallon.

Also the use of reckon and yonder really make........well..........I don't wanna go there :D I'm originally from NY :hiding:

You must love Florida-speak. I've somehow managed to grow up here without getting the florida accent. Guess it helps living in metro area my whole life. Get outside of that, and you're back in the deep south here :P.
