The biggest problem is with the missionaries going ignorantly into a country whose culture is completely incompatible with Christianity. For example, the Christian missionaries who go into Iraq or other Arabic countries to "save" the population. Excuse me, folks, but the Muslims hate Christians for what you did to them during the crusades. You'll be lucky to come back with a head on the end of your neck if you end up in the Middle East.Jazzin' said:I don't want to make a political argument in here, but I just have to say one thing. I don't have respect for missionaries (of any religion). I find what they do unethical and a waste of their time. I don't want to personally offend anyone. It's just my opinion. Maybe I'm ignorant.
I would agree that it's a waste of time and the epitome of arrogance to think that your particular superstition is superior to that of a culture that has harbored a different one for thousands of years.
That said, Jesus needs good bass players for the myriad praise bands around the country. Further, god would only want you to play his praise on the finest of gear. I'd say a Fodera/Eden rig is in order, and let the heathens play Wishbass and Rogue.
