Doing it with no follow-up, just to call someone's post ignorant, is trolling. You have nothing to add except for an accusation. You are a troll.
I'm not calling it ignorant with no basis, obtaining your facts about Peavey as a company from an episode of undercover boss is just plain...ignorant (there is that word again). Care to bring any information to the table that didn't come from a reality TV show which aims to make every company look evil in order to keep people watching and put ratings up?

You made the claim that my post is ignorant - the burden of proof is upon YOU. Prove that they didn't move everything overseas, and that they're still manufacturing a quality product in the USA, profitably, like they used to.
My claim is also based on the fact that my company used to sell them adhesives for speaker construction, and dealing with them was the worst EVER. We all knew it was a matter of time before their mismanagement of capital and resources would come back to bite them.

This misses something - that what sounds good in the store often does NOT sound good on stage. I do like how my bass sounds through either my 1x12 or my 2x10 (yes, it does sound different) but combined? BLISS.
Are you saying that Peavey has NOT off-shored all most all of it's once famously "made in the USA!!!" production?
If your company can't compete with other companies that already moved production overseas, staying based in the US and losing money isn't an option. As far as I know, many people that worked at the shut down US plant were able to be relocated within the company and not just simply left hanging like the TV show would have you believe. If we're going to start basing things off dealings with the company, as a customer I've found them nothing but pleasant to work with, especially when compared to other US based companies I've had to deal with (cough *Rickenbacker* cough). AFAIK they still make a fine product, they wouldn't be selling so many amps if they didn't.

Nope, not at all. But to make Peavey out to be some sort of villain because of it is just absurd. You can't slight a company for trying to not lose any more money.
How do companies like Mesa manage to build amps in the U.S., and sell them at 3x the cost of a Peavey, without being in danger of bankruptcy? I NEVER see posts on TB about buying the latest Peavey amp. Everyone is looking for the 70s and 80s Peavey amps. Why? They don't make them like they used to. Quality has suffered, the brand has suffered, and they had no choice but to move their operation overseas to compete against the other low-end amp manufacturers.

If you're not a cabinet designer - you could get lucky.
There's no universal law that states that if you mix two cabinets period, that only the "good" part will be enhanced.

Sure. Peavey has stayed in business and appears to make good money where others are not. I do agree that it's really sad that Peavey, back in the old days, would *proudly* put "made in the USA!!" on all their ads / gear. Now it's almost *nothing* made in the USA for them. Sad. But if you want to ID a poorly run company, look no further than Gibson. They appear to be the poster-child for mismanagement.
Some good info here, but there is no one size fits all solution. Post's that I liked, try before you buy, follow your ears, some cabs are designed to be used together, buy quality. I currently use a Bergantino HT210 and HT115 together with great results. I read or heard somewhere Mr. Jim designed these cabs to work together. Unfortunately I have put them up for sale as I got a new gig and I would rather schlep 1 mid or large cab (1 trip) than make two trips with two smaller cabs.

i've had great luck with 2x10s and a 1x15 cab. That's accepted as a great setup ever-wheres but here on the vacuum that is Talkbass....
(conversely, I've not had good results mixing brands of cabs, regardless of the driver sizes)
