mixing cabs yay or nay

To the OP. I have found some very knowledgable people on this forum, and gear snobs. I ask questions like this as well as other stuff to form my own conclusions. I would suggest you do the same. I rely on my ears to tell what sounds good to me. I'm 60 and I have seen the Evolution of equipment. Just because it says one thing on paper doesn't always translate to real life. If you like it go with it. I do agree with stay with the same brand and models even tho I have mixed with successes. Here is a pic of one of a few of my setups. A lot would shoot it down but I'm a working bass player that's all that matters.

I had a few HyDrive 12's... nice cabs! Love the look and sound of 1x15 under 2x10... I have a Markbass stack - looks same as urs... cept its yeller!! :D

Most of the commercially available lower tuned cabs are built with 10" speakers. Bigger speakers don't necessarily make lower notes. The overall frequency range is a function of both speaker frequency response and cabinet tuning.

i wish I had bought these a long time ago. I have two Genz Benz 112 focus cabs a Epifani Ps 410 and a yorkville XC115 and the hydrive can replace all of that. Oh the money I could have saved on cabinets alone we won't even talk about heads

I just want to share that one should listen before they buy. I had a GK Neo 410 and loved it until I added a 115. Both sounded great alone, each with their own character, but together they were the worst of both. I thought the mid-forward 115 would add a plus to the strong lows of the 410. I was wrong.
