It was a Great, fun year...and So difficult to have it end in such an ignominious manner.

Sporting News also named Kevin Cash AL manager of the year...and well deserving.
Shoulda been named scrap heap master of the year. Three starting pitchers go down around the same time---Snell, Glasnow, Chirinos with only Charlie 'curveball' Morton carrying the load. Honorable mention shout-out goes to TB's pro scouts, Medical and Rehab staff. Seeya next year- Go Nats.

Rumor in NY - there is a mystery candidate for manager, namely A J Hinch.

He and Brody are not unknown to each other, and if Houston doesn't win, he might want to move on.

Seems unlikely, but could explain why they are not snapping Girardi up.
Girardi to Phillie; does anyone know who's wearing Astros uniforms? Obviously not the people whose names are on the backs.:banghead:

He may have had some 'accidentally' sprayed in his mouth -while he was yelling.:rolleyes:
Considering that there are still at least two games to go, and today is a travel day, he's probably OK if the Nats win in four.

And what was that all about last night? I wasn't able to watch, but my wife filled me in this morning, up to a point. The Astros self-destructed and the Nats helped them do it, so far as I can piece together.

Of course, no one complained about the fact that they signed the woman beater in the first place. Which is worse?
That's simply not true. For example, if you read the deeper stories on this, you'll find that one of the reporters yelled at (the one with the bracelet) has consistently posted information for domestic violence victims since Osuna was signed.

In general, this has received FAR more press. What's worse, hitting a woman, or talking about someone who hit a woman? Think about it...
Osuna was arrested about 18 months ago and the Astros traded for him 15 months ago. Do you really remember the amount of press coverage then accurately enough to compare?
Both things suck. Sports teams signing guys who hit women has sadly become common. An executive taunting female reporters because his team signed one of those guys has not (at least yet).

My point is, the guy who hit the woman is still earning millions. The guy who made a stupid comment is out of a job. The Astros are hypocritical as @#&@$. They don't care about treating women with respect - they are just sorry they got caught.
