MLB 2024

Jays are up 8-2 in the bottom of the 7th in Tampa. You love to see it! But you never know with those pesky Rays. Still need to get 9 outs.

I would love to see it, but it's blacked out. In Milwaukee. MLB Network had the Dodgers-Cardinals game on, and there was a second MLB Network channel that had the Blue Jays-Rays game listed, but it was blacked out. I don't get it. Oh well, tomorrow I get to watch the Brewers play.

If you have a decent internet connection you can find anything you want to watch for free. I do it all the time. That's how I watched my Cards lose to the Dodgers earlier.

That’s a bummer. Black outs stink. I miss the years that I lived overseas. I had the MLB.tv subscription and could watch every single game live if I wanted to. No black outs. The only challenge there was the time zone difference. Had to wake up in the middle of the night for 1pm (Eastern) day games.

How about those Red Sox?
Dammit! Wait until this evening.

In a way, it's not bad. Being a properly superstitious person about baseball, the Mariners have made a habit of winning early and then being lousy. Losing on opening night might break that pattern. Besides, all AL West teams except the Rangers lost. And they will lose tonight, I just know it. The Mariners will win, and we are all back to even.

Being a Mariners fan for many years makes for some great rationalizing skills.

Unfortunately the Rangers can't lose tonight. They don't play. It seems like there's a lot more breaks in series of games than there used to be.

The Brewers got win number one. Jackson Chourio got his first hit, first stolen base, and first RBI. Peralta struck out 8 and only gave up one hit. Hoskins had a dirty slide that looked to me like was an intentional spike of the back foot of the shortstop. I hope that's an isolated incident. Other than that, I'm happy with how this game went.
