MLB 2024

Well, I know its early but I'm really digging the way the Yankees are winning, especially against Houston. Bull pen has yet to give up a run, Volpe seems to have made some adjustments, Soto, so far, is as advertised, and Cabrera has a higher BA than Soto ! It will all come to an end soon, but really enjoying it now !

So long as Houston gets beat, it’s all good.

The Pirates are looking frisky to start this season! It’s nice to see them winning some games. Their hot start was fun last year too. I don’t think it was all smoke and mirrors or randomness either. They’re definitely not a World Series contender, but they have some good young players. I could see them making a dark horse Wild Card push this summer if things break right.

My Blue Jays came out of Opening Weekend 2-2. I will take a series split at the Trop all day long! That place gives Jays fans nightmares. In the two wins, the lineup had it going, which was a welcome sight after their struggles to score runs last year. And Berrios and Gausman had very strong starts in those games. You love to see it.

In the losses, they of course struggled a bit more to generate offense, and neither Bassitt nor Kikuchi were super sharp on the mound. Both of those guys were very dependable starters last year. I’m not worried about that.

The most important thing is that Vlad is looking more like he should at the plate. He had a great Spring and he looked very locked in during the first four regular season games. If Vlad is doing what he’s capable of (think 2021 Vlad) then everything is so much easier for this team.

Justin Turner also had a fantastic day at the plate in the win today. I suspect Toronto fans will become instant fans of his, just like Brandon Belt last summer when he started getting hot.

You guys are fortunate to have Turner.
