MLB 2024

Cubs have had a nice bounceback--since bottoming out at 39-48 on July 3, they're 36-22. And they've just taken the first two from the Dodgers in LA., It's probably too little, too late to get into the playoffs. But if PCA continues to play like an All-Star, that'll create some momentum for next year.

If MVP truly means "valuable", it's Lindor, hands down. If he were not in New York, no way the Mets would be in the playoff hunt.

Last night is another example. Team is no-hit for 8 innings. He leads off the 9th and homers, team goes on to win. He also made some great plays in the field, and is the leader on the field, the dugout, and the clubhouse.

And the Mariners aren't done with the amazing baseball torture. They are 3-1/2 back of the Astros now. There's sixteen games left, and more than half are against Texas and Houston. There's hope. I just don't know how much or whether to get excited or pay attention to football.

The Brewers won the NL Central. We have a chance to win tonight and take the series against the Phillies. This team could make some waves in the postseason. I'm trying not to get too excited.

So you're saying there's a chance!?!

It's over for the SFGiants for 24. There are rumors of changes in management . Will Snell be back next year?
I'm feeling that inevitable fate for the Mariners. They lost yesterday because Julio Rodriguez had to dodge a bat while on third base and got picked off because of it. That's just the baseball gods saying nope, not this year Mariners. They had their chance, they didn't make it. They are not mathematically eliminated yet, but that's coming, especially when they are getting snakebit like they did last night.

I saw that this morning. Rodriguez should have had his head in the game, but that's a @#$%^$#-y way to lose a runner on third.

Yes, he should have, but he had to dodge a bat. What a way to get picked off. That's just one of those things. The Mariners seem to have had plenty of those this season. Ah, well. They aren't eliminated just yet.

Ohtani becomes the first (only) member of the 50/50 club . . . and does it IN STYLE! 6 for 6 with 3 HR's, 10 RBI's and 2 SB's. Holy Schnikes this guy's good. That's simply jaw dropping.

Cards broadcasters are gushing about this right now, with one of them saying it could be the best individual performance in a game ever.

Marvel at that statline:

The crazier one to me was Robles the game before. He's on third, bases loaded, two outs, the batter has a 3-0 count and he tries to steal home! What. The. Hell.
