The Mariners did indeed win all four of their closing games. They finished a single game out of the playoffs. How long before I can start the cycle of pathological optimism all over again? I think it's about a month and a half.

Well game 1 was sure something! Glad my cable co got their stuff together; turned on the TV and was getting error messages for a number of channels (most working fine) including ESPN2. Finally came on around the 6th inning, in time to watch some spirited back and forth almost post-season baseball. Was kind of hoping for ATL to tie it in the 9th for some extras. Bring on game 2!

Mets will be resting everyone they can. Remember, Alvarez and Lindor are hurting, and playoffs are tomorrow.
That's why I want(ed) extras in both games, with a split. Sale is last minute scratch for game 2, ouch.
So the Cruds are keeping Mo in charge and putting Bloom in charge of the minors until he takes over as POBO in 26. Gonna be another dumpster fire of a season coming up. Ugh!
Braves and Mets knock out the D-backs and each head to the airport for playoff baseball on no rest. At least the Mets have the shorter flight.

I'd rather see Baltimore and Philadelphia but Cleveland and the Phillies would be fun.
I'd like to see the O's in a big one again, sure, it's been a while for them too. My folks were from Philly and we lived a number of times in Baltimore-adjacent areas so remember following the Orioles (though the Colts more) and that could be a good one.
