MLB 2024

I hope we get a good game #3 tonight between New York and Milwaukee. Go Brewers!

Hard to believe that three AL Central teams are in the ALDS. Fun fact: Here are these teams’ records against the White Sox in 2024:
- Cleveland: 8-5
- Detroit: 10-3
- Kansas City: 12-1

If the White Sox had been just Regular Bad instead of Historical Bad then the complexion of the AL Wild Card standings might have been different. Seattle and Boston wish that they could have also played Chicago 13 times this summer! 😂

Not being a fan of either team - and since both losing isn't an option 😜 - I hope it goes 15+ innings. Switching back to reality if the Brewers SP is Myers as initially mentioned then I think the Mets might have the advantage here. Both teams have shown the ability to erupt for big innings so I expect some real proactive mound management from the dugout to try and stay ahead of that. Always trite to say come postseason but the bullpens will probably be the difference tonight. Shame that despite rather unseasonably warm weather around here the roof will most likely be *closed*, again. When baseball can be played outdoors, it should be. What's the point of a retractable roof if you don't retract it?

The Mariners, being the Mariners, would have found a way to lose to the Sox during their tailspin. It's what they do. Until next season, but that's for a different, future discussion.

I can't wait until Williams is gone. He is a horrible closer, has been for years. He gets a lot of saves and pitches out of trouble, but he puts himself into that trouble. Three outs to go and you walk the leadoff hitter. A premier closer doesn't do that. I'm hoping for a miracle, but I'm not holding my breath.

Just got your wish! 4-2 Mets.

I'm devastated. The defense and the bullpen have been the strength of the team all season long, and they blew it. No hits in their last 12(?) at bats with men in scoring position going back to yesterday. I don't know how to change the culture of great regular season and garbage post season. I was hoping that the new manager could do it, but obviously not. Same old Brewers. I'd rather have this than the 90s and 00s when all we hoped for was a .500 season, but man, I would love to see a World Series win once in my lifetime.

The Cincinnati Reds are hiring Terry Francona as their manager, sources tell ESPN. He will come out of retirement one year after stepping away from Cleveland and will take over a young, talented Reds team. @Feinsand was first on the news.
