Nice game for the Mariners last night - Cal Raleigh is one of the year's heroes, paired with Rodriguez.

A friend from India, who is just learning about baseball but learning fast, asked me if it was normal to rely on just two players. Meaning Cal and Julio. He got his answer last night when somebody else stepped up in a big way. He's got it all sorted out in the important ways. The Mariners are the team to root for and the Yankee are the team to root against.

I had a lot of co-workers from India who were crazy for cricket...spent a lot of time explaining the differences, since I actually played cricket when I lived overseas a long time ago. "No, it's not a bowler, it's a pitcher..." I repeated a lot.

Bold move to leave Snell in to finish the 6th but it worked. Then a great top of the 7th for LA! And of course Teoscar got the rally started. Truly one of the most likeable players in the MLB.

Teoscar is a good guy. Some criticize him because it looks like he’s dogging it in the field. I don’t see it that way. He tried to stretch a single into a double today. He is not dogging it.

It sorta was. So we didn’t get Treinen until later. He promptly gave up three hits. The Dodgers won in spite of Roberts and Treinen.

He sure did.

We'll see Roberts use that path going forward, IMHO.

My Cubbies are in trouble. Milwaukee has been very good all year, yet is underestimated as a small-market team.

I am not impressed with these Cubs. Brewers are the real deal though. Turns out their so-so performance in September didn’t mean a whole lot

Mariners are playing at 1 something, right? Gotta turn on the radio when the time comes. As my mom, the old battleship, would say, it irritates my gizzard that the MLB playoffs are not on broadcast tv for everyone to watch.
