I have the opportunity to buy a MM Stingray with very minimal wear for $800. Is that price a good buy?

It looks like one of the knobs is missing. I don't think they're that spendy but you'll want to factor that replacement cost in.
Still, for a made-in-U.S.A. Ray in decent condition, $800 is about as good as you'll find.

That looks like a mid to early 90's at least Sting Ray as it has the mutes on the bridge. I like the older ones because I think the mutes are cool and I'm a fan of the Chrome Battery cover as apposed to the plastic they replaced it with. Cool color. The price is pretty decent if it plays well. I got mine for $750 and it's a similar vintage from what I can tell from your pic. I'd offer $700 and hope to pay $750.
Those early trans blueburst bases have a bit of desireability in them. $800 is a great deal, even in this economy they have easily been fetching 1000+.
