modded ampeg v4-b???

hey guys. i'm looking to upgrade my rig from SS to tube. i've got my eyes on this ampeg v4-b but it's been modded out.

the seller replaced the power cable with a 3-prong one and he also had a master volume installed.

are there any downfalls to these modifications?

and what is the most you would pay for a modded v4-b?

i feel like he is asking a lot for the amp and want a good idea of what a proper offer for it would be.

Can't offer a "what its worth" cause you are not a supporting member. The three wire cord is not so much a "mod" as a necessary safety upgrade. The master volume IS a mod unless the amp is a MTI era amp. MTI era added a master volume after the Magnavox days IIRC. Collector value goes down with the mod.

i'm assuming it's magnavox era.

it's a removable mod. it is a box with a knob that plugs into the ext. amp.

i don't know much about it other than that.

That's not a mod. That's an "effect." Just unplug it. Boom...unmodded.
