Modding my MIM Jazz!

Hello, low end musicians of the Talk Bass community. I've had my agave blue Fender Jazz for 4 or 5 years. Now that i'm making some money, I decided now would be a good time to mod it! It's already pretty beat up, but here's all that i'm planning to do to it:

-Relic the body more (tips on how to do this?)
-Put on an SX high mass bridge
-Putting on a red tortoise pickguard
-Tearing out my DiMarzio strap locks, putting regular buttons in
-Putting in white pickup covers (going to soak in coffee to stain them to a creamier color)
-Thinking about putting in a Seymour Duncan 1/4 neck pickup
-Putting on a walnut thumbrest
-Putting on 3 gold Gibson speed knobs
-New strings
-Adjust the truss rod
-Have all the wires cleaned, saudered (sp?) if need be

I'll make sure to post pictures when i'm done!

Sounds neat - do some searches for relicing - it's not very hard if you take your time.

Also, good luck dying the PU covers - I tried soaking my white Pickguard (after I sanded it) in coffee for 4 days and nothing stuck. I think you'd be better off buying some nitro tint from reranch or something

Why the SX bridge? You can get a great bridge here used for the same price.

Sounds cool!

I don't really care too much for brand names, and it was only 20 bucks. It'd be nice to have a BadAss II, but I bought the bridge when I didn't have that much money. The stock bridge on my Fender sucked so bad, I figured even a high mass bridge from Rondo would be better.

That, and I never even thought to check the classifieds on TB. Pretty dumb mistake!

I was thinking that.

Krylon, paint for plastic, would work too.

Okay, everyone... here are the pictures of everything i'll be adding to the bass! The colors all match very well, but when you just state it as blue, red, white, and gold... It makes it seem like one ugly bass. I made a request to to have my bass mocked-up, so i'll post a picture of that soon as well.
