Modeler speaker options?

I made the switch from a traditional bass rig to a powered speaker for some shows and like that my sound is more predictable as most of my sound designs were done either in headphones or studio monitors.

I have an Alto TX310 for small needs and a older TSL215 for louder situations. I have used the TX310 for acoustic and jazz gigs and have it set up for monitoring bass parts in the studio, it's small and light but packs a respectable low end punch.

I’m going to be selling off some pedals and what not and going to a Quad Cortex set up. I’ll likely still hang on to my HX Stomp for even simpler portability.

What is the most practical amp/cab/powered or passive FRFR speaker solution for amp modelers? I have been using a Mesa TT-800 and SW115, but if I go to more of a modeler type set up, should I simplify?

What are you guys/gals using?

The Subway 115 with the tweeter at full is pretty close to FRFR, we have a suprising number of players using it this way.

You can also use your modeling pedals into one of the effects returns, leaving the other available for an alternate tone from of one of the two onboard preamps. The TT was designed from the start to do exactly this.

I don't own a modeler, but Barefaced seem to do that thing with their Activier 110. 200W IIRC

I just got done running this for the first time.

I have a Headrush FRFR and think it’s ok. I also run my synths through it, so the non-coloration is beneficial for that, and the sound is close to what I get in my headphones (but still needs some tweaking). It’s very light and I can carry it in one hand so that’s nice. It gets plenty loud, but I do find it gets very boomy in the low end. I think it has something to do with the resonance of the plastic cab. I use the global EQ on my HX Stomp to cut low frequencies and that helps. All that being said, when my current band has our set ready for live shows, I want to get an Accugroove powered FRFR.
