modern pop bass effects?

I play bass in a functions band. We have started covering modern pop songs such as pink, taylor swift, bruno mars ect.

I'm seeking advice on what sort of effects to use for this sort of music, i'd like to emulate the distorted and fat sound of synth bass used in the originals.

Ive got a boss bass overdrive pedal which works well, im also thinking of using ADSR or sub-octave & chorus sounding effects.

Any advice on what to use?

Thanks :)

I am in a top40 cover band and play some of the artists you mentioned. we don't have the keys player and I have been trying to emulate these sounds myself. Interested to see what people say. Im sure a gated fuzz is in order or maybe a Source Audio MWBD

^^^ This. Lots of informative discussions, some very recent.

In the short term, you can get a lot of mileage on the cheap if you add a Digitech bassy synth wah to that boss pedal. This guy has a pretty cool sound on a taylor swift cover using one with a fuzz pedal.
