Modifying an EHX Wiggler for Expression Input

I'm a big fan of the EHX Wiggler vibrato/tremolo pedal, I think it can cop a rotating speaker sound pretty well (at least at a better price point than a few other options). However, I don't really like it's set-and-forget nature, particularly with the rate knob.

How difficult would it be to take a Wiggler and modify it for an expression pedal input that would control the rate?

I've looked into the T.I.P. Third Hand option, but the few reviews I have seen of it don't sound too promising.

It's just a pot. I assume it's wired as a variable resistor. Tie the points to a stereo jack and wire it like is on the board, and you should be able to use a volume pedal.

I'm so for being so vague, but that's all there is to it. I can't go into any specifics simply because I'm not familiar with this particular schematic.

No worries. It's just nice to know it should be possible. Thanks for the input! (pun intended)

Nothing to say except I thought I was the only one who has(and loves)a Wiggler(that just did NOT sound right..).

Hahaha. Well I don't have one yet. I pretty much badgered a good guitarist friend of mine to buy one a few years back, played my bass through it a handful of times, liked it but never had a use. Now I have a use for it for a few new projects I'm trying to get started.

Ok, so I may have a Wiggler on the way soon, and will be looking to get it modded for expression.

Now I need an expression pedal... I was looking at the Yamaha FC-7 but I keep reading stuff saying the sweep isn't too good; that it is way too abrupt in the heel section.

I really like the feel of the Roland EV5....
of course if you like the feel of the yamaha, or any other for that matter, the pot could be changed or a resistor could be added to adjust the taper. The pot may need to be changed anyway to the value and taper of the pot in the wiggler the expression pedal will be controlling.

Hmmm, I may give the Roland a try first. Figure I can just order from somewhere with a good return policy.
