Yeah, it's pretty cool. I've only ever played one other; the white one that was posted here by someone who bought it at Sam Ash and then returned it. If I remember rightly, that neck was just black. Maybe it was KLD... shoot, I can't remember.
 
That makes me happy. I am glad we are getting something out about these pretty hard to find basses. Much more than the company ever really put out.. We are learning more and more as we go... Do you have any details that you could post about your bass here on this thread for others to read? It would be great..
 
Nothing really that hasn't been posted already, I'm afraid. It's got the same appointments as the others from the same era; brass position markers, ebony board, etc...

I haven't had the neck off yet, but when I do, I'll mention anything that stands out, like if I find Amelia Erhardt in there or something....
 
Picking up this thread a few months after the last post - Moosewood can you comment on whether the bridge is still the original on your neck-thru BassStar? After searching this thread I never did see where you provided as much detail about the neck-through as the California bolt-on. Thanks!
