Modulus Identification

When you look at the bass again make sure the neck is straight. As far as I know none of the early Modulus basses had truss rods so you won't be able to make any adjustments. If the string tree is not stock it may have been put on because of issues with the neck. Regardless check every note on the neck to see if there are any high/low frets, warps etc. If you have to pay for a fret job in addition to the electronics the cost for this bass is going to start to approach getting a newer used Modulus (though maybe not in France).

Thx bassgod0dmw, i pay 500euros (more or less 500$) for it.
Ni pickups, no electronic, no ... thing.
So i'll have full choice to equip (Nordstrand, Delano, .... P.U / Noll, Nordstrand, Audere ... preamp ?)

Well, i ordered the Bass this morning, i couldn't had the opportunity to have a test or a look myself as the shop is about 300 miles from me and we will do the transaction by UPS. I'm now crossing fingers to get something in an overall "good shape", something that is still playable !

As StephenR said, you can't get any modulus in France, even currently at any price, there's NO for sale. At least 2 of my friends (who tried my FB4) are looking for one but not a single one for sale for the whole country. Just have a look on EBay, hardly all for sale are in US and there's not so much listed

I hope i'll be able to buy a Precision style Modulus once ... I love those basses !

here is the back of the 81 neck through Bassstar. pre 35" scale if I remember correctly. (it is a 34") I think the Quantums came out just after this was made and they were the 35 inch scale.
