Modulus Mob

I'm pretty sure the Q5 wide's spacing is 19mm, whereas the standard is 17mm... correct me if I'm wrong

Yeah, that's what I thought as well. It certainly does NOT look wider than a Warwick broadneck, which has 20 mm spacing.

I really want that bass, but I also wanna save money for a custom built Swedish bass...lucky that the Swedish Crown is weak against the dollar atm...

Hello Mobsters...

Has anyone tried a Modulus with Nordstrand pickups?

If so where they aftermarket or where they some if the VJs that went out with Nj4sv split coils?

Any thoughts on the type of pickup that is a recreation of pickups that we created more so for traditional bass building materials?

I can say that the MM4.2 sounds good with a moses neck.
Looking for anyone's experience with this.

Cheers

My fretless has a flame maple body with a chechen finger board and my fretted has a quilt maple body with a pretty clear maple finger board. The quilt maple looks more like bubbly oil. My Q6 has a sweet very even flame top and the Vj on the left has a quilt top as well. So I guess to flame ( or some call it tiger maple, and two quilted or curly maple.

I noticed your Genesis as well. That thing is a killer bass. I am going to contact Modulus this week and see if they will make me a Q6 with 19mm spacing. That would be SWEET!!!

I saw that the Genesis link was down previously also but they seemed to have fixed it now. MODULUS WEBSITE

That's a nice collection of Mods you have there. I have just one, a fretted Genesis similiar to the finish pattern of yours 2nd from left, but with the clear maple neck of yours 3rd from the left.

One thing I had a question on is that I don't seem to see there being a difference in the description of the finish of a clear finish Quilt 5A for the flame maples, yet some seem more like tiger stripes such as mine and yours 2nd from left, and then others that seem to have more of a broken pattern such as yours 3rd from the left.

Do you know if these are two distinct different types of finish patterns or just variations of the same.

Thanks Mule. I did some checking and found that the striped maple is tiger maple and the broken pattern is the flame maple. So it is 2 distinct patterns. I wonder if it's from two different species of maple or if it's just finding the patterns.

I think it's just the curly maple tree and finding the right patterns for flame or tiger.

Sounds cool about the 19mm Q6. I'm partial to the Genesis only because of the wood over graphite neck preference but I can say that I haven't really played a Quantum enough to find out if I would get used to a graphite neck.

Well, I never joined when I had my Q6SS but now I can! Just in today, 2006 Modulus FB-5, with Aguilar OBP-3 and Basslines pup. I've been wanting one of these for awhile and got a heck of a deal off of evilbay.

I'm sure someone will notice, the G is strung wrong in the pic...wasn't my doing.
