Used but good condtion modulus Q5 with green/blue burst. Gold Hardware, 18v bartolini preamp, bartonlini pickups. $1500 shipped or will trade for a Modulus Genesis. More pics to come.
All of the Moduli that I have played are like this including mine. Very low action with no buzz. I am sure the OP can comment on his, but this bass is no joke....the pictures don't even begin to do it justice as far as finish. I have tried many times to capture the finish of mine in a photo and nothing compares to seeing it in person.
the frets are nice, ive never seen a modulus that was messed up, theyre great basses, and hold up really well. and youre right, that finish is rediculous, pics dont even come close to doing it justice. And theres no hardshell case, but if thats the selling point, i can possibly get you one.
Approx how much do you think it would cost to replace the gold hardware with black? Jusr wondering cuz my sweat eats through gold and silver like crazy. Also, what year is the bass, and are you the original owner? Does it have a truss rod?
This bass has no truss rod, and quite honestly doesn't need it. The neck is perfect, the action is perfect, the sound is perfect, and I was nuts to get rid of it.
Dude, call me - or email me. I may be able to afford to buy this back from you.

If you buy that bass, let me know and I will trade my black hardware off of my Q5 for the gold hardware on that one. I think gold would make the purple stand out more on my bass.
Edit: Actually, I only have 4 knobs on my bass and you would need 5....but still would help you and me out!

I thought they started putting rods in so players could get some relief (if desired). I have never had the privilege of playing a Modulus so I am not sure what I would prefer. All I know is I am tired of making adjustments and getting setups 2-3 times a year! AND I have yet to even play an instrument that has no fret buzz with low action...poor me .
I'm sure I'll start some crazy debate with this - but I prefer the modulus pre truss rod.
Realistically speaking - the necks are carbon fibre, and not meant to move - what the hell were they doing putting a truss rod in there, other than making people feel better.
I may be wrong, I do not beleive I have ever seen a zon bass with a truss rod, nor do I remember seeing a status bass with one either. - Again just from my memory.
The truss rod models are cool, but all modulus basses are cool. I think the pre truss rod models sound more like a modulus.
regardless - when I owned it, I had a shim placed in the neck pocket, so that everything could be lowered. If this bass plays the same as it did a year ago - it is to die for. Plays like butter dipped in liquid jesus.

I bought my Modulus without ever having played one...bought it sight unseen off of eBay...3 years later....never once had it set up...it doesn't need it.
Keep me posted if you get this bass and are interested in a hardware swap.
Then you need a Modulus. My Q5 has the lowest action I've ever played without fret buzz and I've played basses by MTD, Roscoe, Pedulla, Ken Smith, Sadowsky...I need say no more.
hey man...is this still available? I was the owner of this before DR and I'd love to get it back. REALLY loved this bass. I actually replaced ALL of the hardware with new parts that I bought directly from modulus. When I got the bass, the hardware was showing its age a bit and I wanted to spruce it. I must've done that within the past 5 years (I think I got the bass in early 2003?)...so the bass is early 90s, but the hardware is 10 years younger. This was a sweet bass. Definitely let me know if it is still available and maybe we can work something out?
ps. those were my pictures of the bass and it is true...looks WAY better in person.
