I will. Except I don't have to, you know, since I replaced every single cable I own with them and they are guaranteed for life.

I know nobody gives a rat's @%$ about these types of threads, hence the low sample size... so it goes.

Anyway, here's the order of cables in my cable test clip first to last.

Coiled Whirlwind (10')
Mogami Gold (10')
Whirlwind Leader Elite (20')
Planet Waves (20')
Mogami Gold (20')
Road Hog (10')

As you see, everyone who posted, thought the Planet Waves cable was a Mogami.

Oh come on! I care Matt! I think that this would have done better as a poll. In fact, I would love to see you create a new thread for this. I think it proves an important point: in the scenarios that most players will encounter, there is little audible difference.

This reminds me of the comparisons that I've seen on here where someone will record with an SX or Squire versus American made Fenders and even boutique basses. The consensus is usually that you can't really identify which bass is which. Despite audible tests and science which can prove that a less expensive bass can produce the exact same sound and frequencies as a more expensive bass, ignorant consumers still choose to pay hundreds if not thousands of dollars more. Of course we go for the build quality, brand loyalty and aesthetic, but still...wood is just wood right? (sarcasm ) This world is just one giant marketing scam and if we were all wise enough to see through it, we would play Squires, drive Kia's and buy performance running shoes from Kmart.

I can tell you first hand (as I make cables for a living) that high end parts make a big difference in the DURABILITY of cables.

But copper is copper. It is my opinion that the limiting factor is the WIRING inside the guitar/amp that you are using (if you want to start the wire vs tone theory). If the wire sucks there, the effect that you will get from a great cable is pretty much null and void.

Honestly, Id rather have a cable that doesn't break than a cable that sounds great.

I don't think there is a difference in sound but I can see going with a high quality cable, especially if you're a pro or you gig a lot. At some point we've all had the "cable's going bad and you've gotta giggle it a bit" happen. If having a good cable gives you nothing more than piece of mind, it's worth it.

The K-Mart in my hometown closed eight years ago! It's on one of the biggest comercial properties in Bellevue, and it's essentially abandoned with a chain link fence around it all these years. Apparently, there is a large amount of asbestos in the building and they can't demolish it, dispose of it, and no one will remove it! Where will I get my running shoes?????

I've had Planet Waves and Monster fail on me, never had a Neutrik plug go wrong.

That said, the cable between the plugs has failed a few times on ones I've soldered myself, and I've rarely encountered this issue with stock cables.

I'm still going to solder up my own cables though, just because then if/when they do go wrong, I know exactly who to be angry at.
