Mono strap durability ?

I have a Mono GS1 "betty" strap that is very comfortable, but the edges of the strap holes seem to be very brittle and are cracking beyond the stitching. Most straps use leather on the ends, but Mono chooses to go with a seemingly very strong material, but I am having doubts about the material's durability after being repeatedly taken on/off the strap button. The bass has Dunlop dual-design strap pins.

Has anyone else experienced problems with this material being brittle?

Mono case company's customer service is outstanding!

The day following a warranty question, I received a response and a return authorization. 4 hours later, they shipped a new one and prepaid the FedEX return shipping of the old one.

Very cool to see that they have great CS. I recently acquired a duraweave betty strap and am really liking the construction and look of it. Reading your story made me a bit nervous as I also take the strap on and off my basses...but reading your CS story makes me feel much calmer. Gotta love Mono!

I received the replacement strap from Mono and I noticed right away that there was an improvement made in the design/materials of the strap ends. Two things- the material on the ends feels tough, but more resilient than on the previous strap. My impression is that it will do better with repeated flexing. The other improvement is that the material is thinner and will now accommodate the dunlop straplock system without using brute force. :)
