Monster Cables vs. Planet Waves

Monster Cables VS. Planet Waves

The 'standard' Monster cables are great.... not very expensive, well made, great warranty. HOWEVER, the Monster Bass Cable is the only cable I've ever tried that actually sounded different than other cables (and other Monster cables). Avoid these.. they do something to the capacitance or something that really reduces the high end response of those cables (thus fooling your ear that they 'provide more bass').

However, the standard series are fine, and seem better made than the Planet Waves I've used.

I like George L's myself:D Amazing that you can fit two 15' cables in your gig bag and they take up less space than one standard 12':bassist:

After having done some extensive soldering on their stuff (custom snake build), I fear Monster. Horrible build quality. I used to have a friend that worked for them, and can confirm the issues they had with tearing jacks out of equipment, and that some bass and mixer brands warned against using their stuff. This, coupled with their abysmal history of frivolous lawsuits, leads me to believe the Pie Chart here:

is largely true (even though it's a humor site).

+1 for canare / mogami w/ switchcraft ends. +2 for making the cables yourself!
