Montreal Tube-Amp Tech?

Nordine at Steve's knows what he's talking about, but repairs at Steve's are not crazy expensive, but they really aren't inexpensive either. He worked on my gear once. Quick, clean, professionnal. I just might try 1kinal's suggestion next time.

Thanks. It's good to know you got good service at Steve's. Price is less important to me than knowing I'm going to get good service.

I've not had a great service at Steve's myself. They had a new Ashdown for repair and it came back with a big scratch on the front panel. Worst (and I really don't know how they did this), one of the potensiometer was completely broken and cut, like they took a pair of pliers and cut the whole pot shaft...

All the people I've sent to Amp-Tek got a great service and this guy is a tube amp guru!

I usually go to mf for my instruments but never went for an amp.
Who would you recommend to service a vintage svt, also is there a good place to repair (recone...etc) speakers in montreal (it's a vintage svt810)?
I want to have this rig checked and repaired if needed by a pro, I also want to keep it as original and good sounding as possible.

I just found out two place that recones in quebec, solotech and belisle acoustic. I'm not sure yet if they can recone a vintage ampeg 810 speaker.
Any opinions on one of those shop?
Also, how's mf for tube amp service?
please help.

He's worked on all my amps from Euphonic Audio (boutique, digital) to vintage Ampegs.

While at his shop I've seen many Ampeg B15 being restored or repaired. He's THE tube amp specialist. For example he takes pictures of all the work he's doing so that gives you an idea of how much he likes his job.

He's taking care of the amps of most of all the pros in Montreal presently. Look no further.

Ok thanks, I looked at his website, looks like he knows what he's talking about and he seems to "respect" vintage stuff so I would be affraid to get my amp back with ripped tolex.
I will have a look at it when I'm ready to get the job done.

Following the advice of a couple of fellow forum members in this thread, I took my WT-800 to Mr. Tube.

Thanks to lomo and turcmic for their recommendations, Mr. Tube is indeed a class act.

If you live in Montreal and need an amp serviced, I highly recommend Mr. Tube. As long as I live in Montreal, I will never use anyone else.
