Moogerfoogers Discontinued

This is an observation of a fact, not to be confused with a political post:

They sent an email to subscribers indicating that the 25% tax would shut them down, or force them to move all production to China to avoid the tarrifs. Attached to that was a plea to customers to sign a petetion against the tax, citing that it would contradict the "buy US product" that is touted by the same government forcing taxes.

There is nothing to link the two events directly, but from the outside, this is one of many hypothetically derrived conclusions.
Cool. It was just said so definitely so I wasn't sure if it was fact or some political statement.

I am on the fence about tariffs. I believe there should be none across the board, but as long as other countries are using tariffs against us, I am all for the using tariffs as a useful threat to bring other countries in line, and that seems to be happening. And it seems to be working. EU just came hat in hand and pledged to work with us.

Regarding if tariffs are the reason for the MF discontinuation, I find it hard to believe adding a couple bucks to a pedal would be a dealbreaker for most people inclined to buy a MF. But what do I know.

I wouldn't be surprised to see them roll out another pedal line. Still, I'm glad I've got the Foogers I craved. Prices were never pretty on these but seems they will only get worse now that they're "rare."

I'm a nut for the Moog sound though. 3 MF's, 3 Min MF's, 2 Moog synths, 1 shaged bank account.

I just have the opportunity to snatch a MF-101 for a very very good price. I've been wanting to try a filter pedal for quite a long time and always looked at the Moog for this.

I was going to ask if it is worth to go for it, but I kind of know the answer already :)
Yep the MF101 is worth it and it's also worth getting an expression pedal too plug into the Moog if you want even more synthy flexibility

I snagged one shortly after they were discontinued - found a used one at $200 and am shocked to see that they've doubled in selling price in that short time. I've been debating pulling the trigger on a ring mod (even to get a minifooger ring mod) or a minifooger delay but have been able to exhibit some amount of self control so far. Aside from the delay (which is already a fortune) I really think that the MF-101 will be the other MF pedal that people will want in the long term. It's the only one that has shot up in resale price substantially...the others have gone up in price but aren't selling at those prices.

I'm not really interested in the resell value of the pedals (but who knows the future). I'm mainly interested in playing them. This new opportunity to snag a MF-102 still has me thinking... How massive would it be to have the OC-2 into the MF-102 into the MF-101...

Well from that standpoint, then anything you plan to use is worth it. It becomes more of a question to you of is it worth it to spend the money for the application you have in mind. As for filters in general, the MF-101 is tops on pretty much everyone's list -- but that doens't mean it is worth $400+ that you see them selling for.

I thought you were honing in on if it is worth to pay the crazy prices people are asking or wait for them to come back down. I don't think the MF-101 will come back down in price, I think it will only go up from here.

Agreed with you on the magic of the MF-101 is stacking it with other effects. I use mind with a future impact so I get that awesome synth sound from the impact and then push it through a moog LPF...sounds unreal! The keyboardist I jam with mostly plays a Moog little phatty and there are times it is hard to tell who is making the synth sounds - he or I
