Double Bass Moonlight In Vermont from Mraz Jazz

My sketch of Richie Beirach's arrangement of Moonlight In Vermont..from George Mraz's 1996 recording "Mraz Jazz".
Lots of Pedal Point(s) in the bass throughout the tune which creates Instant Harmonic & Rhythmic Tension (tm).
Also - This version is kind of curious because there are some "loosey-goosey" time issues, (IMFO), and there is no bass solo (?) - it almost sounds like it was a rehearsal take?
Also,too - I wasn't fond of the ending/cadenza bizness on the recording, so I MacGuyvered an ending - Ritchie B. Cosplay is what the Youngz would accuse me of.
The whole recording is worth a listen. GM was/is a Monster on so many levels.

Also, I really appreciate the Richie Beirach cosplay visual… that one’s gonna stay with me. When I was in college my friends and I would riff on (and essentially try to emulate) the “ECM scumbag musician” liner photos… John Abercrombie (or indeed Richie B) looking un showered with a cigarette dangling from the corner of his mouth… those where the days… (what the hell’s a liner photo?)
