More Fly Craziness....

geez, i wanted these when they first came out, and i still want one now, but I just wish they were a little higher powered!
I have a sneaking suspicion that is why they're being blown out. The pre on it is quite good, but when you can get a MarkBass LMII for $599, and it has the full 500W on tap all the time, the choice is clear!
I wanted one of these when it came out, but never pulled the trigger on it. I had a thought, maybe a bad one, of using it as a preamp for my IP 310. Dont really need the power and for 300.00 it would not really be a waste of time to check it out. If I dont like it I can just sell it for 250.00. I feel bad for the people that dropped 700.00 on it. Good luck trying to get your money back out of it. I looked at the Ashdown site and they have a 1000Watt version. I dont know if that is new but it might be why everyone is blowing them out.
Ah, that's it then. This is the proof-of-concept. The real deal is in the pipeline...
That said, it'd be a killer practice amp, or small-gig amp. I really did like the pre on it, some great tones already preset, and you can save your own patches.

I dont know if you can rack it or not. It really is an odd shape. It is much loger than it appears in the pictures.

Another place blowing them out for $299. I don't REALLY need one, but at this price, I ordered one. Figured it would be fun to play with, possibly a good backup and if I don't need it, I can prob Ebay it for damn near what I paid for it...

I played one finally at a store locally!!!
they are not to bad a slight learning curve but they sound ok
if you have 4 ohm cabs your in luck I think I might have to buy one !!

I keep thinking one of these and a couple of Bill Fitzmaurice Omni 10's would be cool little package.
It's very tempting. There's more to this than just the front panel controls. From the user manual:
"SUPERFLY EDITOR SOFTWARE
SuperFly Editor and USB driver software are
available by download from the Ashdown
web site.
With the SuperFly Editor software you will be
able to Load and Save individual presets to
your computer or to the Superfly,
Download/Upload all Presets in the Superfly
to and from archive files on your computer,
edit all parameters on the Superfly in real
time from your computer, change the MIDI
channel number and update the software in
the Superfly for future upgrades to the
operating system.
You also have access to additional facilities
that are not available from the Superfly front
panel i.e. you will be able to modify all the
Compression parameters of Threshold, Attack
time and Release time in addition to setting
the Ratio Value.
You have available a 7 way fully Parametric
Equalisation option that you can use in place
of the 7 band graphic. This has a graphic
representation of the EQ you are achieving to
make it easy to understand exactly what
effect your changes are having on the sound
through the Superfly. The results that you
achieve with this Parametric Equalisation can
be saved in one of the user Program Memory
locations of the Superfly for your own
entirely unique equalisation."
The manual also lists the weight at 6.9Kg which is the 15lbs that people have been reporting.
