That really doesn't make sense, since commiseration is the expression of pity... Really though, if people would do a search, as outlined in the FAQ and rules to do, they'd get their answers... we discuss the same things over and over again a lot on here. It's cool if we make new headway, but generally it's just the same.

What does everybody think of 5 and 6 string basses? I'm getting a lot of flak from my band about it but I want to start playing a 5 string real soon.

Exactly the opposite happened to me, everyone wanted me to get a 5-string (they didn't know 6+ strings existed so i don't know what they would have said if they had known) but I went for a 4-string anyways because I didn't see any need for the low-b for the kind of music i was playing and i found a 4 which i liked (now, i would like a 6 but not because of the range, mainly because they are easier to play imo because you have to move around less)
