Anyone have any experience dealing with Moses that they wish to share?

Last month I ordered a new neck for a project and it needs to be built custom. Paid in full up front and was told there was a 4 week production time for the neck.

Well, that was over 4 weeks ago and i know that sometimes things go beyond the estimated schedule. But for the last 2 weeks I've sent a total of 3 emails simply asking for a revised estimated completion date. He hasn't replied to any of these and that bothers me because the replies were lightning quick before/during the sale.

Am I being impatient or unreasonable? This is the first time I've custom-ordered anything. I'm not sure what to think.

Your wait could be much longer on a custom.
Owner told me they got slammed with orders after Namm.
They were good about refund. I recently got a bass off E-bay with a Moses retro and I really like it.
I bought more used necks for project basses. Don't know how they will turn out. My impression is they churn out P's and J's all day long but customs take much longer.

The quality of their work is high & they are willing to customize their standard product. Yes it takes only 4 weeks to make your neck. Getting the custom job designed & into the work flow could take a while, too. Shipping can be slow this time of year. The end of the year is full of Holidays & unused vacation time. Answering email & vmail from impatient customers slows things down. Be patient.

They have a new email now due to spam. They also have to turn off their fax machine unless they are expecting something due to spam also. Call Steve directly.

In a very backwards kind of way, I was glad to find this thread, even though it is somewhat dated, because:
I have a Moses Vertical Jump Basst hat I bought about 11 years ago, and have been very happy with. The purchase experience was great, and Steve was a pleasure to deal with.
I shipped it back to them at the beginning of September for pickup replacement (which required routing the body, otherwise I would have done it myself). They emailed me on 9/17 to arrange payment, and I have not heard from them since, despite repeated emails and phone calls.
So they have my bass, and I have no idea what is going on. The fact that they have shown similar behavior in the past is slightly reassuring, because short of flying out there and knocking on the door, I can't think of another way to find anything out.
Anybody live in Eugene, OR? If you do, I could use some help.
Thanks, gang.

And the happy ending to my story is that Steve was out of town for several days on critical family business, so much so that communications were essentially suspended during that time. But my VJB has been re-pickupped and is on its way back to me, so there should be a happy ending to the tale - as long as it makes it way home safely and in one piece.
