Just got in from summer NAMM. MOSRITE is back!

Dana Mosely has picked up the family tradition and is now making Mosrite back in California. I had a great conversation with Dana and several other family members.

I will post pics tomorrow but they now have two basses, the Mark-I 1965 bass which is like its name, and noe a Mark-II Standard, which has the Mosrite body with a P pickup and Fender style bridge.

The company is now known as Mosrite Original. The new website is www.mosrite-guitars.com for anyone interested.

Like A_Step _Towards said, great to see another American instrument company, especial in these economic times. I would love to own one of those '65 reissue basses. It also looks like they are going to make a cj Ramone bass, which will have a bad-ass and a zero fret. Pretty cool.

That's great news. Talk about a company with a colorful history!

The next thing they need to do is bring out one of these:

Wow, great news! I've always been a big Mosrite fan. The few I've played at Chicago Music Exchange have been quite impressive.

I'm glad to see that the '65 reissue looks so much like the original. They definitely haven't skimped on any of the parts. Here's to hoping they reissue the Combo bass or Joe Maphis model!

any idea on prices?
Expensive. I looked up one of the dealers and they had a proto CJ Ramone sig and a couple of the guitars all listed around $2200. I'm sure they're fine instruments, but I don't want one that badly. Oh well.
