Double Bass Most compact folding music stand

The Hamilton wire stands are probably the lightest and most compact, but they're very flimsy. The best I've found is the Peak portable stand:

They're very sturdy and stable. One model goes to 48" high, the other to 60". The desk folds up like an accordion, so the whole thing fits in a compact little carrying bag. Note the user reviews, most people seem to love them.

Koenig & Meyer (K&M) makes several folding music stands, including an all black heavy duty folding model that I own. I don't remember the number. It's a tad heavy and pricey but folds compactly and is quite rugged.

There was also a compact all-metal folding stand called the DESCA which sold for about $100. It was made by some guy in northern WI but he recently stopped making them. I talked to him a few months ago and learned that he's looking for investors to fund production of a new model. This new mode, however, will be mostly made of plastic.

I generally use the Manhasset Voyager. This is basically a standard Manhasset with folding legs. As mentioned above, it comes with a bag that can hold some music, accessories, and beer.

I have one of the K&M folding stands and it is quite rugged for how compactly it can fold. The only thing I don't like is that the desk won't go "flat" enough for my taste. I stand when I play and I like to keep the music stand kind of low because I'm typically only looking at the chart when my memory fails me (which is getting to be more often). The desk adjustment angle is designed more for the way someone would use it if they were seated and had the sheet music right in front of them.
