Most difficult bass song ever!!

...Oh, and one more: "Joe Frazier" by Jeff Berlin. Think Teen Town is hard? Try that one, Human Bass. I used to be able to play Teen Town clean...I could never quite get Joe Frazier super-clean. The intervals are just too weird.

Humm, maybe its not hard as i think, but every note is so perfectly placed that if it were harder, it would be worse :smug:

The thread's kinda dumb because everybody comes here with their own limitations, expectations and tastes.

Frankly, the most difficult bass song ever SHOULD be the next one you learn. Always push yourself... no matter what your level of ability, find the song which challenges you most and then keep on it at until you can do it in your sleep. Then move on...

The most difficult bass song in the world ever is the very next one you learn. After 34 years with either a guitar or a bass in my hands and with well over a thousand performances under my belt I am constantly finding stuff I can't yet do, things which challenge me as a musician and as a performer.

I have more I am yet to learn than I have already learned... And thank God for it... If I thought for one moment that I'd achieved all that I could as a musician I'd give it all up.

A tad uncharitable and missing the point. That suggests that having heroes and dreams is silly, and that it's mindless finding out what others' heroes and dreams are.

But then your expectations and tastes regarding what a forum is all about are your own.

Are we talkin classical too? The bach cello suites (they have been played on bass) are really tough too.

Are you kidding me? I've played for 9 years, they're very simple. if you play Suite No1 "prelude", it's all chord progression. I might be at an advantage, but trust me, practice the song everyday and you'll be fine.

I'd say any song by Fishbone, or any line by Norwood Fisher.

Edit: I guess it might be harder on bass, but there are more difficult pieces in classical music.

the bass solo in water on the brain part II by allan holdsworth is quite tricky.
some of the jaco p stuff is difficult as well. if you can find a video for trictocism with joe pass playing with a bass player then you'll see some pretty smart looking double bass playing on there...

I can't imagine being able to play Billy Sheehan chops.:bawl:

I would give Sheehan's NV12345(whatever it is) bass solo from his Talas days a nod. Some of the tapped harmonic runs are very difficult to nail. Playing the solo as fluidly as Billy does and at tempo is very challenging in certain passages. My vote for best bass solo of all time.

And

How about "My Three Moons" by Manring. 3 basses, alternate tunings and a lots of feel.

Oh I'm sure several people will say "those songs are easy"!.:eyebrow:

the solo in sinister minister note for note is tricky. i can do it tho since 1991 -ish.

that song's bass solo (sinister minister) changed my life forever. so did rio funk with marcus on bass, and so did self defense and got tuh b with willis on bass. amazing cats.

i want accurate tab of the willis self defense solo so bad!
