MOST OVERRATED ACTOR

sargebaker said:
Depp..is just great. I mean really what can't he act? He's so versatile and convincing in his roles it's almost scary. I think he's for sure te one person who is the farthest from overrated these days.

What turns me off from him in roles where he isn't playing some HST/Keith Richards hybrid is that he seems to lack nuance. I was pretty unimpressed in his roles in Blow, Gilbert Grape, Chocolat, and Donnie Brasko. I wouldn't say they were complete crap, but just nothing special, especially for how much credit he is given. The only characters that he seems to play well are really quirky and over-the-top, which probably cover up his lack of nuance (i.e. Ed Wood, Fear and Loathing, Pirates of the Carribean.)

I get told I look like Mr Depp quite often (though not as much as a few years ago) so he is not overrated... he brings me chicks :)

Angelina Jolie I have never been a fan of, though she is a good actor, I find her overrated

IMO so don't hate me (though I accept hate for disliking Bongos... just had to get some anti-bongo in here)

Erik Estrada - totally overrated. The guy probably didn't even actually ride the motorcycle.

From what I remember: He did ride his own motorcycle and dide his own stunts until one time he wrecked and punctured his lung. After that, he refused to do any stunts, which is one of the reasons why CHiPs was elevated to a new level of lameness (and it was pretty damn lame to begin with).

I HATE THAT GUY. LITERALLY. HATE HIM! Is it Curuso?

Relax, man. If it wasn't for his super-intellect, Miami wouldn't solve a crime. The network apparently feels pretty highly of him. His coworkers aren't even that, they're all subservient to his all-powerful character. The usual plot? 12 murders in one day. Curuso shows up and solves 10 of them before the opening credits finish. The 11th is accidentally solved mid way throught the show after one of the morons catches their own mistake. Curuso solves the 12th about 45 minutes into the show (but he's had a hunch since the first commercial break)...leaving 15 minutes for a climactic chase and Curuso reasserting his intellect as he explains to the criminal how dumb they are. End with a wry smile and another question about whether his brother is really a cross-dresser or an alien from the galaxy Andromeda.
