HA I used to do the same thing.

After I hung around some old jazz dudes, I started saying "cat" and because I'm 18 I got a lot of "what the hell?" looks from kids my age.



Then my friends made me stop saying "cat"...

"growly" ...never understood the meaning of this word since I've seen it describe so many different basses that sound nothing like what "growly" means in my head. I almost hate hearing the word.

flat. most people wouldn't know flat response if it bit them on the ass, yet so many bassists use it in reference to their amps, despite the fact that they're usually not flat.

btw, i count myself in the numbers of people who wouldn't know flat if it bit them on the ass. used to think i did, then i'd discover i was fooled. so now i just move knobs till it sounds good.
