The Stingray 5 came out in '87.The main reason I say a soundgear, is , well, how long ago did they come out? Late 80's?
This question is tricky because during the Eighties and Nineties, there were a lot of detuned fours playing what sounds like five string basses.
Nathan East was using Yamaha fives during the Eighties on recordings by acts like The Eurythmics and Phil Collins. I wonder when Tony Levin started using his SR5?
Nathan East's Yamahas?
Nathan East's Yamahas?
I would almost say a Soundgear.
Really? Most recorded?...I was also thinking Soundgear like chicago_mike said. They are good, inexpensive and there are a lot of Soundgear players out there.
