Fodera YYS. Man, that thing brought out the good, the bad and the ugly! But what a glorious instrument.

YYS was my gateway drug to this bass. Remains my #1 instrument, but it is like a magnifying lens on your technique and approach - for better or worse.

Enviably fine playing. Your solo from 3 minutes is fantastic. That flurry from 3'50 to 4'04" is just fantastic.

You play any Flamenco-style guitar? You seem to have that kind of feel...

Are you using the StingRay to play the same music as the Pbass, or are you going new places with it?

The 'Ray has inspired me to open new doors in material, technique and styles but is extremely revealing when I try to rip through a set list that I've been playing forever. But it sounds fantastic when I nail it.

I owned an alembic that perfectly amplified every defect in my playing. (In HD)

As did my EBMM Bongo. I was SO not worthy.

I once owned a dog of an Alembic bass that would not hold its tuning, but would faithfully reproduce all the duff notes that resulted. They used to say a Fender Telecaster guitar will give you nothing for free. That's sort of unforgiving, but this was pitiless.

Musicman Sterling is very unforgiving.
It exposed how awful my technique was and made me clean things up a great deal.

If you want to hide in the mix and be felt but not heard, it's the wrong bass for you.

Any "German" Warwick.. Very unforgiving when mistakes happen..

It's already been mentioned but another vote for Modulus Q...with stainless steel strings, plugged straight into a PA speaker!

Practice in headphones or iem with a flat eq. That's honest. Bass that made me sound better than I am? Pentabuzz. It has growl for days...

My bass, if the tone is turned all the way down and only the P pickup is used, barely registers different notes!
