Hey folks...I recently came into something I need some help with. I've been buying and selling stuff, mostly old furniture, but last week something totally unexpected came into my hands and I need some help. I got these from a very nice older lady who was selling off the remainder of her father's possessions. She said they came from the personal collection of Howard Hill, an expert archer who did a lot of work in Hollywood back in the day. They were a gift to her father who was a schoolmate of Hill's when he was in college. As I know nothing about the movie business or photography, I have no idea if these might have some actual worth or if they are just more old stuff that might do well in a flea market. The lady I got them from was with her father when Hill gave him the photos and she said she would be glad to give me a written statement attesting to their authenticity. Most appear to be from First National Pictures which I've looked up and found it started as a chain of first run movie houses who got into production very early on and wound up being one of the largest movie makers of it's time. I've also looked up some of the people and they where known players at the time, but beyond that I have no idea if these photos have any real value beyond rummage sale stuff. If they are worthy, I'd thought about maybe donating them to a school or museum, but I don't want to embarrass myself by offering pulp. I have 37 of these and they are all in matching frames with brown craft paper glued to the backs with a toothed mounting bracket nailed to the frame and appear to be professionally mounted. Most are in excellent condition. A few of them have a code on them that appears to put them in the early 30's
