Moving from Solid State to valve.

The store I was working at became an Ampeg dealer just as production moved to Vietnam. We had 100% failure rate until we dropped them. The biggest problem was not faulty components, it was MISSING components, usually mounting screws, washers, and the like that physically kept the amps together, and a lot of circuit boards mounted without spacers, thus shorting them to the chassis.
I own a CL made in China now and I trust it. Beware made in Vietnam ones.

I'm mainly leaning towards the V4B but i've heard quite a few stories of quality issues with them because they're made overseas?

All the Ampeg amps are manufactured in China. The track record for the V4B is very good. You tend to read about the exceptions on the internet.
