Moving to a power amp setup, need some guidance!

my concern with putting the cabs on separate amp channels is that you're supposed to then back off on the 15 so it doesn't blow, but since the 15 will likely already be not as loud as the 4x10, the tendency would be to turn it up instead so it was the same apparent loudness as the 4x10, a recipe for blowing the 15
running both cabs off one amp channel would spare you that complexity and risk as long as you kept the overall volume at a sane level

the idea is to get the 15 doing it’s job within reason by itself then bring in the 410. Seems OCD to demand that they be exactly the same. I’d get the 15 where it wants to go then leave that setting alone.
just me tho, my tolerance to not F’ing with a good setting unnecessarily and managing multiple amp trims is higher than some totally rational folks!

Or just use the 15" unplugged as a stand to hold up the 4x10, or for a separate rig.
Soundwise, a 410 doesn't need a single 15 for anything; I really don't see the point in trying to make it work just because it's there.

See, that's the key right there. If you're happy with it, stick with it. People have been doing the 4x10 + 1x15 combo for ages. I played a stack with that setup for a couple years with a gospel band, no issues and sounded nice. I know this is similar "blasphemy," but I also had a 2x10 + 2x12 stack for a while as well and loved it. Kinda miss that rig, now that I think about it.

If they sound good together and the 410 sounds good the safe power level for the 15 then alles klar for one channel of the amp. One channel for each with slightly different amp trims (tape/sharpie dot if it's not intuitive) if the cabs want different amounts of power to reach yer preferred tone.
