moving to Europe, amp decision to make

I may moving to Paris this fall (only for 6 months though) and use a Walkabout Combo as well so subscribing to this thread. I did just buy a GK MB500 though that I may throw in the suit case and store my Walkabout. I thought I would buy a small cab when I get there to use. Where are you going to be in the EU?

Just buy a mains transformer when you get to europe and use the gear you like and already have.

It depends on the amp, many have transformers with multiple taps so all you need to do is change a few connections on the transformer and you're good to go.

At least that was the case with my SVT-II (previous owner had imported it from the US and it is clear the connections on the transformer have been changed).

Not all amps will have this tho.

ah ok thanks for that! cleared a bit up for me does anyone know if the walkabout specifically has multiple taps so a 110v version can be converted to run at 220?

+100 top stuff the TC range...i know someone that has no car and takes a 2x10 and a rh450 + bass on his bicycle...
mesa gear is very very expensive in europe..when i hear what u guys spent on a 400+ i almost cringe when i think how much mine cost with the mesa shockmount..

I own an RH450 and the 2x10 (plus others) and it's quite compact, but... on a bicycle? I'd love to see that!

Buying a used second head, converting it, and selling it in Europe on departure seems like a neat way to achieve the goal of having your favourite amp at very low cost (or even making a small profit in the end, given the high mark up on Mesa gear in Europe!)
