MPUbicki build thread

Stupid Question: where’s the output jack?
Has to be on the side, no? Maybe an electro-socket so it's recessed?

See post #77 for more evidence.

Not quite the same but close. It has small metallic flakes, hard to picture in garage lights. I used epoxy as pore filler and automotive spray filler, color coat and 2k clearcoat. All in spray cans as I don’t have a big enough compressor for spray gun.
You can see the maker in the reflection and a modified NS Design WAV body in the background. It was clearcoated at the same time.
Wow looks great! Nice to know that kind of high quality professional finish can be achieved with rattle cans!

Logo sticker cut. After lengthening the M a bit I like this combined MP more than separate letters. I made a new lever for stiffer spring. Now it works without any rattles and presses the string to the E fret solidly. No difference in looks to the previous lever. I got parts for preamp today and I’m pretty sure my layout is correct. I’m trying to solder the preamp during weekend.

It’s alive!
Yesterday I was swimming in the dark waters of failure as first test provided nothing but silence. Just silence, no hum, no buzz, no nothing.
Closer look revealed a small blob of solder connecting two rails where no connection was needed. After cleaning all the cuts carefully the preamp works. Now I need to deside how to wire the bass. Bass/treble will be stacked and if I make an active blend I can stack vol/blend and have passive/active/mute on a rotary switch, a bit like Kubickis were.

As usual, this project is turning into something really interesting. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want to see more carbon fiber builds, but I really like this.

My favorite takeaway from these builds: The research and development involved is enviable, and should be emulated by all forms of fabrication.
