Well... Not an AG5... But it will do. It needs A bath, bad... It's actually greenburst, I thought it was blue, but I was wrong.

I mean, it sounds awesome to me on its own, but I haven't dialed it into a mix yet. Maybe someday I'll get a Gouche eventually, but to me it's pretty much what I was looking for.

I find my Kingston import version to be a surprisingly versatile bass. Mine has the same pickups/preamp setup as the US version. Sorry I can't offer any personal experience with the US model. Might want to do a search on this forum. I recall reading at least one review where 2 players had experience with both and said there was a small difference in feel and tone due to the custom build . Seems they had played Andrews personal bass at Namm a few years back.

How in the world did you get Mike's proprietary electronics in a non-handmade bass?!

I’ve owned 635 AG, I like the norm spec more than AG. The newer white AG alder maple neck and board maybe killing

Just purchased one Saturday, took it out on a gig that evening and played her in Church the next morning. Luv it, no complaints, still have to full around with her a bit to get used to her, but I'm already satisfied. She's a keeper, Kingston Model.

I've had 14+ MTD USA basses including 5 with wenge necks (great, very very focused fundamental but over time not always the voice I was looking for- they can also be a little dippy - especially 6 or 7). The Gouche (USA) combo of materials presents a broad pallet of tonal choices while keeping tone and eq squarely beneath the fingers allowing for a wide range of dynamics - you can dig in or play Gary Willis super light touch and it will speak with nuance. Surprised how much I like the alder sound together with the maple neck and purple heart board. EQ controls are very responsive - just dial back the highs. The AG makes me turn up and play lighter and feel more in control of tone and dynamics straight from the hand. Much as I loved my Ken Smiths (heavy basses), having the AG 5 and 6 enabled me to sell a bunch of Smiths and reduce the arsenal substantially.

I have a Kingston 5 AG and I simply love it, I have other basses comparable such as my Yamaha BBNE2, each have their own distinct tonality, but my AG is definitely a keeper
