mtd basses

Their Heirs are top notch. However at my GC they only stock 2 or maybe 3 different models the number of strings on 'em vary as well. They seem to sell out quick cause the selection changes every time. I've played the Heir 4 and 5 and one other one that had 2 jazz coils. They felt pretty good and the price seems right but, I never have enough cash to splurge.

I own a mtd kz6 and i love it! Ive never played a rick and have not had a lot of experience with warwicks so i cant make a good comparison. I do own a ebmm stingray 4 and 5 so i can give a comparison in respect to those. The mtd certainly plays faster than the rays no doubt about that. tone wise its less trebly and less boomy on the low ends. The sound is more balanced than the rays but still very versatile. The bass itself is quite light for its size. Its actually lighter than either of my rays. The volume output from the bass is a bit quieter than the rays also. Quieter but not really a problem in any way. I liked it better than both the bongo 6 and peavey cirrus 6 i tired out when buying the bass. In my opinion just well built instruments and they have some awesome finishes. Mines a maple neck and sating amber finish with burled top, which in my eyes looks great. The price for the mtd basses is very fair also!
