BABS was made for a bass player whose name im not sure of right now. David Inamine, perhaps ? but my buddy Blaise Saison owns it now- he's a fine basist here in Vegas-- he brought it by and i took some pics.. very interesting- very organic and BIG sounding- that's about all i know!-

That's my understanding Adrian. David Inamine, another bassplayer from Hawaii, had input into the design of BABS. As another note of bass trivia, I understand that Inamine helped EA design the preamp end of the new iAMP 800 which is a fantastic head.

I've heard BABS first hand at Blaise's gig at Caeser's Palace in Las Vegas. It's an awesome sounding bass. Yeah, I know alot of you would think that BABS would have a "middy P bass / darker humbucking tone" because it only has one pickup. Let me tell you it is one "big sounding bass"! awesome low end, with warm mids, and hi-fi style high end. Great tone on the the jazz stuff, and awefully punchy funk style tone as well. Blaise makes her sing! If you're passing through Vegas, just look up the Ghallib Ghallab act at Caeser's Palace! great jazz with a little latin and funk.

There is also another BABS. I have seen it and played it. It is in Michael Tobias' house. Much plainer without an exotic top.

As for Dave Inamine. He is a terrific musician and bassist. He is the "I" in iAMP. He designed the very versatile and musical tone shaping section found in all EA heads. Dave is based in Vegas and is the Musical Director for Charo.

If you check out the new EA Catalog, his picture is top right (mine is bottom right) with some no-names like Lee Sklar, Michael Rhodes, Kasim Sulton, Alexis Sklarverski and Lynn Keller in between :D
