Muff pedals for bass?

I've tried most of the boutique options but the EHX Bass Big Muff is the only one that remains in my possession. It needs modding to reign in the volume in dry mode though, so if you're not handy with a soldering iron, get the Deluxe instead.

With EHX being cheap and popular amongst the masses, I'd start off with a new/used Deluxe, and you can flip it later if need be without taking much of a hit!

It doesn't have to be, mine is vintage/warm/creamy! Switch off the internal buffer (if you have the newer version that has one) and set the gain knobs at noon. That's where it sounds best to me!

Clip!

Sounds good man!

Mine's a 2015 model, I'm gonna assume it's buffered. That being said, I LOVE that it's so out there and nasty. It's a unique sound apart from my other fuzzes.

The Grey Stache is what I want out of a muff and I'm so happy it's on my board. I've tried a bunch of muffs, and all of them have had their issues. The GS is the first one I can say I have no 'yeah...but...' when considering it's tone.

Gotta throw my hat in this one, I've played in a couple desert/fuzz/stoner bands with sounds reminiscent of graveyard, truckfighters, Greenleaf, witchrider, dozer, the sword etc.

In short, the WH pickle is my go to recording fuzz, the Zoom MS60b (big muff patch) is the always sounds great live option, and the Tech21 is a ballsy Si (IIRC) fuzz with boost. Let me me know if you'd like details, I truly can't say enough about the Zoom's capabilities though.

Btw love elder!
