why does my bass have a 3 piece neck, wouldnt it be a stronger neck if it was one piece(same with the body)?

It's less likely to warp -- in theory.

By current standards... laminated necks are considered stronger because various wood types can be used together each with their respective load bearing properties. Also, their grains will not be exactly aligned allowing for greater strength. And the old woodworker's saying is, "A properly glued joint is stronger than the wood itself."

They can be a pain in the ass though. With my Conklin groove tools 7 string; the neck is made of purpleheart & wenge (7 piece neck). The woods dry out at different rates, so if the neck isn't properly moisturized, it feels almost if the neck is warped, or if it were sanded down to make marked grooves in it.
Its actually quite annoying, I'd almost appreciate having a 1pc neck after owning this thing, as beautiful as it may be of course.
