I found the switch from 4 to 5 way more difficult than the switch to multiscale. It seems counterintuitive, but I barely notice the difference when playing - except the upper frets can mess with me a little sometimes if I watch what I’m doing instead of just playing. Switching back and forth from multiscale is a non-issue.
This has been my experience as well after playing exclusively four strings for 20 years. Multi scale is a quick adjustment, it seemed like my fingers figured it out and I didn’t have to think too much. Four to five is still a work in progress. I got a Dingwall NG2, it’s great and the price is reasonable for a quality import. But the way to get comfortable is to play it exclusively for a while, and I haven’t done that.
