Double Bass "Munich" bass 25 yrs old, in Mexico

Hi: What do you folks think of this bass? Worth a look or not? I live in Central Mexico, and the bass is also in Mexico, though around 3 hours away.

I'm a guitarist looking to buy a bass with a good sound, for recording purposes. Styles: jazz, folk, pop.

From the listing:

Double bass: Munich (see name carved into the top of the back)
Tailpiece and Fingerboard: Ebony
Maple Back and Sides
Spruce top
Soft Case

The owner said it's around 25 years old, all solid wood.
He's asking $2,750 US.

Those were imported and sold by Jim Laabs Music in the US, a notorious purveyor of crap. It is solid wood, but was molded in a form, not carved, which is structurally problematic.

From what I've heard they don't usually sound like much, and it's wildly overpriced.
